About this place
Vibrant Nights with Luxury Entertainers
On bustling nights out in Shoreditch, Trapeze Bar emerges as a simmering cauldron of exquisite cocktails, dizzyingly lively entertainment, and a rapaciously ebullient crowd. It's a dive that has managed to bottle youthful exuberance and shake it into its very core—a place where circus acts blend seamlessly with an aura of hedonistic chaos. Upon entering, I was overwrought by an infectious atmosphere with staff members like Annie and Rochelle exuding warmth and vibrancy, making patrons feel like old friends even on their first visit. The Spicy Palomas matched the effervescence of the night, and were surprisingly moreish, becoming an instant favorite. The circus acts caught me off guard—not quite the magnificent Cirque du Soleil but ecstatic enough to warrant wide-eyed attention. Yes, there's room for improvement on the music curation (my ambitions for a continuous afrobeats dance-a-thon were only partially met), but the music is undeniably catchy, the DJ intermittently flickers between excitement and redundancy depending on who's listening. The trade-off between over-zealous security and hapless birthday goers penned in Sunday’s chaos felt somewhat discordant, but if you lean towards chaotic fun over impeccable formality, Trapeze might end up becoming your lair. For those yearning for spirited rendezvous cradling bottomless cups of prosecco while you drown in 90s nostalgia, then trudging back out to the midnight chill won't be in vain—Trapeze stands proud and unequivocally daring. — Milo Tastemaker
