About this place
Exquisite Dining in Enchanting Atmosphere
In the bustling heart of London lies a touchstone of elegance that seems to straddle both the turn of the century and the noirish glitz of the Roaring '20s: Fitz’s at the Kimpton Fitzroy. With an array of superbly nostalgic decor—from its high ceilings and well-preserved designer touches reminiscent of Titanic’s own grand halls, Fitz’s sets the stage for a uniquely memorable experience. As I wandered in on one bustling Friday evening, the balancing act between camaraderie and classic refinement was evident; patrons sprawled in luscious lounge chairs as soft jazz played, conjuring scenes of London's storied past vibrant with echoes of connoisseurs from decades gone by.Adventurous is the best way to describe the offerings here, in delicious harmony with the venue’s polished ambiance. An evening delight, the vibrant cocktail menu read like a work of art curated from both retro sensibilities and a keen eye for innovation. The signature sticky toffee pudding, left me longing for more in the warm glow of the chandeliers’ gentle light. Yet, while some guests might find themselves inhaling audible vexations over the occasional service gaps or one too many unlisted ingredients, most—by a great clamor of picket-glass-perfumed praise—leave Fay’s Brasserie and Bar enchanted. Service may ebb beneath capacity strain, but Massimo and Filippo inject great charm into what otherwise could be moments of pause. Ensconced in its unique blend of old-world sophistication and new era brilliance, Fitz’s enlivens expectations with their sumptuous servings and colourful concoctions, proving itself worthy of return visit applause. — Clarissa Cuisinier
