About this place
Outstanding Service and Cozy Italian Vibes
When I embarked on a culinary excursion to Cafe Murano, the evening was painted with breezes of gentle sophistication. Nestled in a lively neighborhood, this Italian Walhalla offers a vantage point akin to an open theater – perfect for watching life’s stories unfold while indulging in the gastronomical works of Angela Hartnett. As the warm hues of decor embraced me upon entering, it became evident why the ambiance garners high praise; it manages to wrap each intimate conversation in its vibrant yet unassuming charm. My table, set against the window, allowed passersby to color our meal while we traversed through Italy bite by flavorful bite. The staff here, particularly our Sardinian waitress Alessandra, were an exemplar of gracious hospitality, their knowledge and cheerfulness served up alongside bountiful plates of culinary delights. The house hallmark lies in the authenticity offered on the glass-bottomed plate: pastas plucked straight from nonna’s cookbook, executed with modern grace. Standout stars were the gnocchi paired with pesto linguine, a dish fervently capturing the essence of good homemade warmth. While some may grumble about portion sizes, I found the three-course menu to be a delightful ticket through Italy, displaying flavors that brim with soul – though, a sip from their selection of wines can admittedly inflate the bill. Nevertheless, with every bite and sip underpinned by a relentless dedication to simple pleasures, Cafe Murano ticks all the boxes of a Gian Lorenzo Bernini sculpture – unassumingly profound and irrevocably impressive. — Clarissa Cuisinier
