About this place
Warm Hospitality and Breakfast Awaits You
Walking into this Premier Inn feels much like trying to recapture the ale-soaked mirth of a Dickensian hoopla minus the actual charm. It sits proudly, or possibly blindly, in an area as notable for its burst of broken van locks as for its proximity—albeit distant—to Colindale tube station. The facade offers the warm embrace of industrial chic and gives way to the inside's earnest attempt at warmth through carpets that seem far too keen on holding onto every scent they've ever encountered. Still, if seedy car parks decorated by questionable activity are your sort of thing, you’re about to strike gold.On a positive note, once you sidestep certain modern inconveniences, like unreliable Wi-Fi and restaurant service that's as slow as Monday morning traffic, things start to purr along quite nicely. For all the culinary mediocrity one might expect, breakfast unexpectedly stands with an array of fruits, pastries, and steamy dishes preparing you optimistically for the day. Then there's one gentleman, Jesvil—a beacon amidst dry husks—whose joie de vivre might just infuse your stay with, dare I say, joy. So, while it's clear I'll burn more calories fretting over my belongings than enjoying a restful sleep, at least the bed is a plump marshmallow oasis, and the toast? Always rock hard. — Penelope Savory
