This place has the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. The cod is always crispy & has the skin on which adds to the flavour. The chips are crispy & well-cooked and don’t have the nasty chippy oil smell ever. The portions are huge, too.

Used to see quite a queue on Fridays years ago (previous owner(s)) and was told quite a few traveled quite a distance especially. No longer, really, see that anymore.

If chips are freshly made (and oil fresh) then decent (got served older chips a few times) and okay service. Interior always was and is dated (a.o. tiles).

Recently bought chips and they were fresh & good. Chips: 4 stars (when fresh & fresh oil).

This place is amazing! Had the best fish and chip in a long time. I love how well the chips are cooked and crispy! Also the staff were super nice. I definitely recommend this place!

Haddock cooked to perfection on order. Chips delicious and canned drink ice cold. Very tasty.

Been here often over the years. Let standards dip over the past couple of years but have definitely turned things around since the new owners took over this month. Well done boys 10/10!

Quality of food was good but very expensive, especially as chip portion was minuscule. Ordering process was slow and chaotic, customers who arrived after me were served first - it really shouldn’t take 20+ minutes to fry a piece of cod!

Been living in this area for years!!! This was a friendly chip shop with long queues once! Now the new owners are not so friendly prices gone higher then any other local chip shop also found hair in my sons food and tiny poor quality overpriced fish!! Never again I now attend clean reasonably priced Seabream Fish Bar not far on shooters Hill much cleaner all wearing hair covers also and very friendly staff!

I’m pleased to notice though that Standard chip shop no longer has long queues like it used too which is understandable!!

Amazing food, friendly staff weekly treat for the family always spot on!!
