I have been a customer to Hampstead Seafoods for at least 30years
It’s a family run business which you don’t often get these days!
The staff are all well knowledged and gut and cut the fish with a certain expertise!
The window displays are on point! And you can’t get fresher unless you caught it yourself!
If you are ever in Hampstead I fully recommend you go and pay the lads a visit!
Such a nice family!
Keep up the good work!
Can’t recommend the shop highly enough!

Absolutely gutted & disappointed. Obviously by my height and the colour of my skin;I am Asian. So I went there this morning to buy few slices of salmon(middle). Then asked if they have a salmon head, and the guy who is serving me he said “yes it’s on the bin” so I said can I have two salmon head, but can you cut it in the middle, please.(While doing it so,I can feel of hesitation). So he cut the salmon head and incidentally slide to the floor where they are walking with their dirty boots.( I did not say anything, just observing. But still he picked it up try to cover it and pretended to even wash it) The other guy looked at him and did’nt say a word but the guy who serves me still put it on a plastic.
So I was really gutted and disappointed how the behaviour of those two guys today. (And Im not going to cook and eat that salmon head fall on the floor;rather throw it on the rubbish bin).

Have you seen The Hobbit? Did you worry about what happened to the three trolls in the woods? Well, have no fear because they are fine & well and monosyllabically serving your seafood here.
Sample overheard conversations:
American lady: ” What’s the difference between Lemon Sole and Dover Sole?”
Troll: “One costs more dan de ovva”
Me: “What’s the best way to cook Octopus?”
Troll: “Well, the best way is to… cook it”
I kid you not. The owners seriously need to up their game – and if they did, I for one would shop there more often. Until then it gets a just-okay / fail score. That said, it’s an independent store that I’d like to support more often, and I do wish it well.

The fish and seafood is of superb quality, and I’ve been shopping here every week for several years now and have not once been disappointed. I find the dry humour of the staff most refreshing, and appreciate the way that they will always prepare the fish as requested to a very high standard. I hope that everyone will support this independent business, and long may it flourish!

Andy and his team are lovely and genuinely provide the freshest, best-quality seafood. If you are able to go in the morning or on week-days when they are less busy you can have very insightful conversations about the beautiful fish you can buy. Best fish mongers in Hampstead!

The best fish I have ever had in London with a great selection on show. Service is fast, friendly and efficient and it is a well deserved established Hampstead family institution with a young staff who are extremely knowledgeable.

THE freshest fish around. I shop there most weeks and have never been disappointed. Fish isn’t cheap unfortunately and I’ve found they are about the same price as a supermarket but are about 100 times fresher, going every morning to Billingsgate fish market to get the latest catch. Highly recommended!

Always excellent fish expertly prepared. Andy chooses a wide variety but only what’s really good…. get there early as like all good fishmongers the choice by midday is limited
