Nestled charmingly in Parsons Green, this quaint yet vivacious pub embodies the classic English pub experience with a touch of vibrant community flair. As I entered, the warmth from the rustic fireplace enveloped me—you could almost taste the flames amidst delightfully hearty aromas wafting through the air. The diverse crowd ranged from boisterous families celebrating around enormous, beautifully plated roasts to locals gleefully nursing pints, transcending idle chatter about the latest football. Their menu is succinct yet spirited; the fish and chips strutted crisply onto tables, vying for attention alongside bolder entrants like the succulent pork escalope accentuated by an assertive celeriac salad.

Service, delivered with precision and amiability particularly shone during my visit. Carolina, a server bustling gracefully amidst the crowd, exuded warmth and intuition, navigating preferences with enviable finesse. Though the pub buzzed with life—the quintessential weekday symphony of clinking glasses and mid-dinner laughter—orders flowed swiftly, always graced with a smile. That said, while the stained glass windows and esteemed wooden furnishings offer nostalgic splendor, an electric memento of the previous night's revelry muddled into misplaced bass echoes–some might yearn for softer conversations.
