Generous Portions and Authentic Flavors Await!
Upon waltzing into the enchanting enclave of JinJiang, located amidst the bustling streets of Greenwich, it became instantly clear why this cozy spot bears a paradoxical aura of both charisma and casual sophistication. Walking in feels like an introduction to a vibrant community, evidenced by a dining room often buzzing with the delight of patrons who share laughter and savor every morsel with enthusiasm. The restaurant’s dedication to an ambient experience is palpable; one need not search far to find the Karaoke room downstairs for those inclined to pair their dumplings with a side of melody. The authenticity of the Sichuan dishes took me on a trip abroad without ever leaving my seat, a reverie shared by my China-born partner who endorsed the taste as nostalgically genuine. Generous portions tend to cause eyes to widen in welcome surprise, especially when familiar comfort dishes arrive with an enticing array of colors and aromas. While the salt and pepper prawns were slightly more nostalgic of an ocean breeze than some would prefer, the Dan Dan noodles painted a spicy love story on the palate that begged a second act. Add to this the eager friendliness of the staff — a touchstone for many diners' experiences — and a visit transforms into more than just a meal, it’s a gathering at the family table. I am compelled to eagerly plan the next visit to JinJiang, where the bountiful plates promise not just a meal, but a fiesta for the senses. — Audrey Al Dente
