Exquisite French Culinary Journey Awaits!

Entering Marceline feels like stepping into a Parisian brasserie perfectly transplanted to the plaza of Canary Wharf. This newly opened French restaurant exudes an inviting charm with its beautifully appointed space, harking back to nostalgic elegance through its high ceilings and Thonet chairs. Welcomed by staff who equate amiability to their calling card, I felt embraced by the warmth and spirit of excellence Marceline seems committed to uphold with zeal. As my evening lingered on, it was Jeffrey, the sommelier, whose flair for wine selection heightened the entire experience—a highlight I recommend seeking out.

Our meal unfurled gracefully, spearheaded by a starter of delectable homemade French onion soup enriched beneath a crust of Gruyère—a heartening comfort if ever there was one. The main course offerings shone brightly; the seafood, especially the mussels, were unparalleled in quality and size, dwelling in a savoury broth that sang of the sea. Although a few diners before me found seasoning a notch above acceptable, my palette was lavishly gratified. To end, the crème caramel sealed the night sweetly—simple yet passionately executed. Thoughtful touches like impromptu celebrations with surprise desserts only anchor Marceline as a forthcoming stalwart in London's gastronomy scene, tantalising us to return and savor its sophistication anew. — Nigel Gourmet
