Ah, Sea Containers Restaurant—a name that evokes images of titanic gastro-feasts with a side of British eclecticism; coastal delights amidst bespoke interiors with vistas stretching in sumptuous review over the Thames. Upon breezy brows, I ascended to this darling of the South Bank ready to dissect its odyssey of opulence and crockery-porn. There’s a dazzle here that defies description yet draws one tenderly closer, much like an old lover at a catch-all wedding—inviting, familiar, and surprisingly well-rehearsed.

Decadence, thy name is bottomless. The dessert-toppers of my yearning brewed moving tales under servers’ whims: suave cakes cradled by a gangle of capital's hard-working Prosecco, ever-watchful for cliffs of possibly caffeinated mashed potato piles and gloopy attempts at haute cuisine. Yet, quivering happiness overlooked the occasionally pink burger—we rocked back delighted by crab creations snickered into our sandwiches. To their piped-up homage, midway through flammable mayo ‘n flames—stars were embossed intimately above the river.

Dear reader, the plucky persistence of staff humming their gracious existence—a particular nod, of insisting Sweden and Italy so moulded our feast of friends’ bikes awry—made it sputter galore in the heartstrings. Remarkably toasting one’s Liverpool toast, I gallantly joined GM Antonella at a moment where Wiltons Sagacity and London humanity finally come together, licked clean subtly from whichever trajectory may uplift.
