About this place
Vibrant Cocktails Meet Energetic Live Music
Stepping into the vibrant chaos that is the CLF Art Lounge, located right in the heart of Peckham, I was instantly pulled into its whirlwind of atmospheric charm and burgeoning potential. Positioned as a hub for music, art, and a delightful whirlwind of Caribbean-inspired gastronomy, it's a place with both promise and charisma by the bucketload. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the amiable staff; in particular, the receptionist made an effort ensuring visitors like myself felt attended to, setting a positive tone for the evening ahead.Though excitement lingered in the air, especially from the continuous chatter of the live band prepping backstage, I couldn't help but note the sporadic bursts of bartenders racing against time—and warmer temperatures—with refreshing drinks for a restless crowd. The rum-infused Peckham Punch won particular praise—a nod to the cocktail craftsmanship the venue holds dear. Unfortunately, the rooftop setting acted more like a hotbox than an urban escape due to a lack of air conditioning. Fans swirled the thick, muggy air ineffectually, a testament to Peckham's unpredictable embrace of late summer heat. Still, as diners cooled their spirits with well-crafted mocktails under twinkling fairy lights, a sense of community arose; it's a special kind of buzz that clings to you long after you've left. While the service seemed patchwork at times and some guests' menus mingled whispers of absent delicacies, there's palpable beauty in seeing a venue learning, growing, and delighting even among its frailties. — Clarissa Cuisinier
