The decor is more "nonna's forgotten attic" than chic trattoria, but it has its own peculiar charm, just like liaising at length with your enthusiastic but slightly forgetful grandmother. Yet once seated, there's a sense, however faint, that this humble restaurant may just surprise you.

As a parade of populous pasta dishes marched by, I remained unscathed by mediocrity; indeed, the famed crab ravioli with accompanying shrimp is not merely dish but revelation—its flavors bold and vividly textured enough to stand toe-to-toe with even finicky Italian mother-in-laws. Amidst all the caloric creativity, the staff played their roles with grace well beyond what's expected.
